RISO Masterclass: ENCOUNTERS

Join us at Onomatopee for a 2-day workshop for all those wanting to deepen their risograph skills

Onomatopee

Join us at Onomatopee for a 2-day workshop for all those wanting to deepen their risograph skills. This masterclass includes a refresher on riso operational basics, plus in-depth teachings on how to design for risograph, image editing as well as an introduction for professional typesetting.

During the event, we will explore the theme of Encounters relating to "invasive" plant species in connection with the Dutch landscape. Through hands-on collage and typesetting practices, you will gain practical knowledge and insights on how to incorporate risograph technology into your own projects.

The end result will be a joint publication with a copy for every participant. An additional copy will be included in the Interspecies Library run by Oscar Salguero, a book curator and collector based in New York.

This RISO masterclass is taught by Sigrid Schmeisser, a DAE GEO-Design Masters alum who has been shortlisted for the Best German Book Design and received a European Design Award for her publication work. She frequently uses risograph in her work, including Raccogliere Magazine and GeoVisions Glossary. More of her work can be seen here.

Basic InDesign and Photoshop skills are very for helpful this class. However, if you are not yet familiar with Adobe Creative Suites, don't let that deter you. Just reach out and let us know, so that we can best prepare the course for you.
