Onomatopee 78

A solo by Simon Kentgens

Tropical beaches lined with palm trees, lush green meadows and mountainous snowy peaks. Everyday we are surrounded by packaging that shows us these desirable landscapes. Each label is a small paradise that looks exactly like how we imagine it to be. Zooming in on the landscapes the labels are detached from their commercial message: they are a window to our imagination. Grocery shopping becomes a trip to an exotic world. Simon Kentgens has been collecting and archiving packaging since 2007. The collection now consists of over a 1000 varieties from all over the world. During the Dutch Design Week Kentgens stocks a custom built shop with his worldly collection.
